Gummy Smile Relaxant
Reducing the amount of gum you display can enhance your smile
A new and more natural smile
Everyone loves a great smile. However, some people can feel reluctant to show their natural feelings of pleasure due to having a ‘gummy smile’. A ‘gummy smile’ happens if the upper lip elevates too far above the upper teeth and a large amount of gum is exposed.
Why choose a gummy smile relaxant?
One of the causes of a gummy smile is a hyperactive muscle in the upper lip, which lifts the lip higher than the normal range. Fortunately, Botulinum Toxin injections can help reduce this effect by calming the hyperactive muscle – and giving a new and attractive smile that doesn’t show as much gum.
The procedure does not normally require pain relief.
After your treatment, keep to a normal level of activity and don’t lie down or lean over for between 4 and 6 hours. Avoid being exposed to strong heated or cold conditions.
You should notice a difference in the first week after treatment, and full results at two weeks.
It is different for everyone, but generally between two and three months.
Again, each client is unique, but you should expect a reduction in the amount of gum exposed when you smile within 2 weeks.
There may be some initial discomfort and bruising, which should reduce after 24 hours. For best results, avoid alcohol or strenuous activity for the initial 48 hours after treatment.
You are not suitable treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have a disease that affects your muscles.
