If you’re considering dermal fillers (e.g. lip fillers), you may be curious to know a bit more about what they are and what to expect if you visit us for treatment. In this post we will take a quick look and answer a few common questions

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are substances that are injected into the skin. Their purpose is to add volume, smooth out wrinkles, and enhance your natural features. Most dermal fillers used in the UK contain a natural substance called hyaluronic acid.

How do they work?

Dermal filler works by filling in lines, wrinkles and hollow areas in order to create a more youthful appearance replacing volume where it has been lost. They are also suitable for your lips, cheeks, and jawline.

How long does the procedure take?

Nowadays, dermal fillers are a very popular treatment. Not just because they’re minimally invasive, but also because they don’t take too long to administer. At Immaculate Touch, we inject the filler into your chosen area (or areas) with a small needle or cannula with the process typically taking around 30-45 minutes, depending on the areas we are treating.

How much does it cost?

As of writing, our prices for dermal fillers start from £220

Is the procedure painful?

Pain experienced is to a minimum. Although you may experience some mild discomfort or a burning sensation/pinch as described by clients, the anaesthetic cream we apply to your skin should minimise most discomfort you experience. We also offer dental block for lip treatments here at Immaculate Touch

What about the after-effects?

Although you may experience some redness, swelling, and/or bruising, these usually disappear within a few days but can sometimes last up to two weeks.

How soon will I notice the benefits and how long do they last?

Results are visible immediately after treatment and will continue to improve over the following two weeks. Typically dermal filler lasts around 6-9 months in most cases but sometimes longer for area such as the under-eye and nose.

Are there any risks?

Dermal fillers are considered to be a very safe procedure but as with any treatment, they carry risks.

We discuss these with you at your pre-treatment consultation with our registered clinician to make sure safe practice is always carried out and also complete transparency to clients always.

Are you properly licensed?
